My story begins with a deep connection to my subject matter, whether it be animal, human, landscape, or still life. I portray intimate, vulnerable moments through highly detailed and realistic ink drawings. The solitary figures go beyond representation; they engage in a shared introspective experience with the viewer so that art and audience listen to and understand one another.

What moves me most about Karen's work is it's duality. On the surface, the imagery feels familiar and accessible-home, nature, creature, nostalgia. But beneath that accessibility is depth. Subtle insight. A layered perspective that reveals itself slowly.
Her pen drawings are intricate without being indulgent. The detail serves meaning. The restraint of black and white sharpens the emotional impact rather than softens it.
